Breastfeeding

Nursing
is a meditative activity. No matter how rushed or busy we are, we
have to slow down. We have to be still. Our bodies know this. That
is why our glands release certain hormones that help us to relax.
At first,
some of us fight this process. We feel that nursing restricts us.
We feel our time is wasted, and we see ourselves as unproductive.
Yet, if we can learn to quiet our minds and calm our bodies, we
will find that the time spent nursing is anything but wasted. The
tranquility will help to replenish our strength. Like any meditative
activity, nursing helps our creative and meditative juices flow.
The endless chatter of the mind quiets, making room for our best
ideas to emerge.
